STEM GEN in Guyana
Three courses were offered under the collaboration, and just over 700 students received ‘Finisher’ status. This initiative garnered recognition from the national news outlet, News Room Guyana, underscoring the positive impact of the project on the local community.

To further incentivize the learners, STEM GEN provided IADC RigPass® scholarships to several of the Finishers who completed all three courses, recognizing their achievements and facilitating access to broader opportunities within the industry. We are grateful to Advantage Energy of Calgary, Canada for their participation and sponsorship.
Overall, STEM GEN’s collaborative effort with the Ministry of Education provided an important first step in offering an educational template that encourages local capacity building within the petroleum sector. We expect to expand the program and will continue to monitor the progress of motivated Learners in Guyana and the region.

Basic Priniciples of Petroleum
Basic Principles of Petroleum is designed for students who require a basic understanding of the petroleum industry.
Oilwell Drilling
Oilwell Drilling introduces the techniques and technologies involved in drilling oil wells and provides a firm foundation for personnel new to the industry.
Introduction to Well Control
Introduction to Well Control provides the fundamental principles of well control to obtain the highest degree of safety during drilling operations.
